Trotec Laser GmbH Celebrates 20 Years of Technological Advancement and Operational Excellence

Trotec Laser is celebrating its 20 year anniversary this year. This special event marks an important milestone for Trotec as the company looks back on its impressive record of technological advancement and customer service that have enabled the company to become the global leader it is today.

Trotec laser was founded in Wels, Austria in 1997 and was established in the United States in Mississippi in 2002. Now headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan, the U.S. subsidiary has grown to over 10 times its original size, with a growing number of support facilities located throughout the United States, including California, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, New Jersey, and New Hampshire.

Consumables

During the past two decades, Trotec has shown an unwavering commitment to helping its customers become more profitable. In keeping with this commitment, the company credits its success to a few key strategies: understanding customer needs and placing them at the center of the company's core values; staying at the forefront of technological advancements; and making employees its most valuable asset.

Trotec has a history of pioneering important technological advancements in computer-controlled engraving equipment that help businesses improve efficiency and product quality. For example, more than a decade ago, the company developed its flexx technology, which combines a CO2 laser for cutting and engraving a wide variety of materials (including plastic, wood, rubber and glass) with a fiber laser for marking plastics and metals. Operators can use both laser sources in one job without having to manually change the laser tube, the lenses, or the focus –eliminating the need to use and maintain separate systems to process jobs that require both laser types.

Employees: The most valuable asset

Warren Knipple, President of Trotec Laser, Inc., explains that the company's materials business unit is an important initiative contributing to the company's success.

"The launch of this business unit has enabled us to provide our customers with a complete range of support for their businesses – including equipment, supplies and expertise – in a convenient and unique single-source solution," says Knipple. "This not only fosters efficiencies and integrated support, but demonstrates our commitment to understanding and placing customer needs at the center of our core values."
